Some people really are that starved for attention. Sometimes, the action is simple enough; an individual shaving their head for example. Appearing in reality shows on MTV is an example of how some people try to look sad. Sometimes, individuals hurt themselves and other people with the choices they make to get attention. Storro was one of the harmful ones. She gave the media a fake tale about an acid face attack that ended up making her disfigured.
Alleged attack on Bethany Storro
A supposed assault disfigured a woman, Storro, of Vancouver, Washington. This story spread like wildfire when it first came out. The story was that somebody had thrown a container of acid on her face. Nobody thought this was a hoax. It was a young woman who was now disfigured as a result of acid. CNN reports that Bethany Storro was released from the hospital on September 5 after entering on August 30. She claimed that a young African-American woman had asked her if she wanted anything to drink and threw acid in her face.
Acid attack a hoax
It was the perfect story. It also was a cliché being used. It turned out to not only be a cliché, however also false. Time reports that police started investigating things as she was getting close to being released. They decided things weren’t adding up. The Bethany Storro acid burns were in a pattern that better fit being carefully applied, rather than thrown. According to Sky News, the acid used was of comparable corrosive quality to sulfuric or hydrochloric acid. There were lots of questions asked about all of this. She just admitted it was all a hoax. She was just pulling off a stunt like the balloon boy or a meat dress.
Paying for it
Bethany Storro is going to have to live with scars for the rest of her life. Also, she submitted a false police report. This means she will likely get charges for that as well. The hospital bills will have to be paid after she returns all donations she received.
